Schools work with numerous data sets on a daily basis and often depend on expensive systems to monitor, maintain and inform decision-making. While there are systems for tracking assessment data, few are customizable to the point where you control or can act on every datapoint and I would argue next to none are built with the tools you already have.

This is what makes Assessment Tracker different from other options. It’s built by extending Google Workspace apps you likely already know and love. This Google Workspace add-on focuses on streamlining data collection for analysis using Google Looker Studio. To be clear, this add-on does not build an Assessment Tracker Dashboard for you, but facilitates collecting the data for a custom dashboard you build yourself.

Assessment Tracker is free to try for your Google Workspace domain. Simply email me, richard@richardaanderson.org to start your domain’s trial. Once the trial expires, you will need to purchase a $250 yearly subscription to continue using Assessment Tracker. The subscription is good for your entire domain.

Below are the required OAuth Scopes for the Add-on to function:

How the above scopes are used.

The application accesses a user’s Google Drive to create one Admin folder and three Google Sheets inside it: Config File – (to manage the configuration), Rosters – (to manage school student data), and Data Studio – (to store assessment data). The application needs access to the users Email address for licensing and role provisioning. The domain of the user is needed to grant access to all users from that domain to the application. No assessment or student data is shared with me, the developer. The application stores the Document Id of the Config File in the script properties along with domain of the user to allow for personalization of the application.
